[D&D 5e] Defending the Dungeon [5/5 | 3]
« on: March 16, 2018, 03:29:04 PM »
[D&D 5e]  Defending the Dungeon
System: D&D 5E
Style: Opposing force to a dungeon crawl.
Players: 3-5
[ @Brave Sir Robin  ]
[ @Acetwinelf ]
[ @Dingus ]
[ @BlazingFox ]
[ @rjbprime  ]
Starting Info: We'll be starting at 3rd level, starting equipment per the DMG. The catch is: You are Kobold, defending a dungeon against a party of adventurers. They are higher level than you are, but you have a reasonable sized Kobold clan on your side, and time to prepare some traps and nasty surprises.

Skill level: As this is a bit of an unconventional scenario I am looking for people who have played before, but one or two newbies should be alright.

Posting expectations: Every other day

Restrictions: Your race is Kobold (as per Volo's Guide to Monster page 119); No class restrictions; Backgrounds will be chosen from this list (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B42lnF90HQW5QmRQOTlLNGpuSkk/view)

Notes: This should be a fun little adventure, to teach you to respect the little guys we tend to stomp on each game of D&D! There aren't really a lot of hard rules for this game, so creative ideas for implementing traps and building the dungeon are a must.

Joining Instructions: Post that you're interested in joining and PM me a character concept! When we have a few players I will make a discussion thread on our new board, you can begin designing your dungeon for the glory of the clan!

Pretty sure I'm up for this. ^___^ I'll tinker with a concept and get one to you.

So my initial idea is a dragon cultist warlock. I'll send you the concept!

How would you like us to do our stats and equipment?

Point buy stats.
I'm not decided on basic  equipment or roll for gold.

Sounds awesome, I've always loved this kind of concept. Sign me up, kobold cannon fodder reporting for duty. I'll come up with a concept in a bit.
Is there any homebrew that will be used or allowed?

I'm trying to be really open.

If you want to be a class, just try to justify how your kobold became that class. I'll discuss any homebrew sources you are interested in, by default any core 5e book is good by me.

Before I get started with
a concept, can you tell us what dungeon we are in and guarding? Who owns it?

The dungeon belongs to your clan. I intend to let you design or customize it to a degree. The name of the dungeon and clan will be up to you players.

The general story I have in mind is minimal. Your clan has been raiding nearby settlements, as Kobold are prone to do. Angry villagers have hired a party to clean out your clan's home. You must protect your valuables, and eggs at all costs.

How long do you plan for this to go, if it goes past one raid then will their be a chance to recruit or make allies with monsters who can help us defend our dungeon such as mimics, dooolgangers, etc?
