OOC Discussion

Just a catch-all thread for discussing things out of character (both about the game and about anything else)

So this seems like a game that would be good to have a map for, rather than theater of the mind. Does anyone have any suggestions for sharing a map for play-by-post? In the past I have used a google spreadsheet document to draw out my map, which worked, but was a pain in my ass. Features we need: Movable player tokens, custom map support.

I've never found a good system/program/app for moving tokens and the like. What I do in my game is I make a quick map, edit it in a paint program (paint.net seems to do the trick) and attach a small (under 150k) jpg each round. It's an extra 10-15 minutes of work for each combat round but I don't have a better alternative.

I'm a-okay with us sorta just picturing it, though.

I agree that a map would help especially in this case but I also think if we can't use a map then we will be fine using theater of mind. I don't know a better way to make a map then Google spreadsheets which seems not worth it in this case.

You know what? I like the idea of using paint.net, I had never looked into it before. The layers function will do well enough for moving tokens. I had a site I used to draw nice looking rooms and dungeons, which would make a nice looking background layer.

Oh, I see that now. Extra critical is near the bottom of the sheet.

Yep champion because it's simple and effective. Also known as the ancient kobold fighting style of "hit it till it dies!"

Btw what did y'all think of my character's backstory I'm curious?
On the topic, robin's character's backstory was pretty good it's funny, sets up an interesting and unique character and also explains why he is a warlock so 10/10.
