Title: Arutha vs. Drebash
Post by: drobob on March 13, 2019, 09:16:06 PM
As the gate opens, a goblin falls onto his face having leaned against the barrier. He pushes himself back to his feet with a layer of sand now coating 3/4 of his face. Stumbling forward he glugs wantonly from a flask, a few streams overflowing and spilling down his sea green cheeks. He returns the flask to his pocket and looks at his opponent, swaying slightly. "Sell-sword, eh? I suppose ye'd get more fer it than if ye'd tried sellin' yer face.
It's about as pretty as a stench kow's tail-hole," Drebash says with a crooked smile. You can see several teeth missing and others broken.

A medium sized human is leaning on a glaive roughly his size, waiting for this little goblin to finally enter. His clothes and armor are impeccable, this human seems to put a lot of efforts into how he looks.
A look at his most likely drunk opponent has him really disappointed, and he actually gets quite angry at this goblin. Ignoring the taunt, he readies himself: "Let's do that quickly, I want to fight an actual opponent, not a half-dead one."

[Alright, looks like I'm going first]

As soon as the signal is given, Arutha closes the distance on his opponents. About midway through, a gold coin seemingly appears out of nowhere between his left hand, and start dancing around his fingers as he mutters a few words. Immediately, tendrils of darkness erupts from a crimson ribbon tied around his left arm, until a sphere of Darkness surrounds Drebash and Arutha. In the instant before the flowing darkness plunges the goblin into complete obscurity, Drebash can see a bloodlust in his opponent's eyes as they lock onto his.

[Arutha runs towards Drebash, casts Darkness as his action, and uses his bonus action to place Hexblade's Curse onto Drebash.]

[Is Drebash carrying any kind of weapon?]

[No weapons, no. Nor any armor.

Holding my post as I'm not sure if you've got more to yours with that question.]

"Baaahhh!" Drebash exclaims. Though none outside can see, he flails his arms forward, ducks and jives and backpeddles out of the darkness.

[Drebash uses a bonus action to Disengage.
He moves 45' back out of the darkness
Not sure how you want to do readied actions, and I (hopefully) doubt you have the movement, but just in case you come within melee range, he'll attack:

Arutha continues to move forward towards Drebash. Two disturbances at the edge of this sphere of black fog and small distortions in the air are all that announce the two missiles of raw magical energy flying towards the goblin.

[Ignore Advantage if you have anything that allows you to see inside Magical Darkness.

Also, forgot to develop on Hexblade's Curse. For one minute:
   - You gain a bonus to damage rolls against the cursed target. The bonus equals your proficiency bonus.
   - Any attack roll you make against the cursed target is a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.
   - If the cursed target dies, you regain hit points equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 hit point).]

A cry of pain comes as the first blast hits. Instinctively, Drebash ducks and the second flies just over head. "Thanks fer coverin' yer face. But 'tis hardly fair." He runs towards the center of the dark area and leaps. Mid-air, he swings out with a barrage of attacks. As he lands, he continues running past his opponent.

Drebash's momentum though allows him to close the gap, and if Arutha's manages to dodgge and parry two of the strikes, one fist goes past his defense and struck him on the side of his torso.

The strikes severely interfere with Arutha's ki and leaves him stunned for a few seconds, and the surrounding darkness fade away.

Drebash turns and looks down, gradually noticing the wound across his chest. "Oooooowwwwww," he slowly says before stumbling back toward Arutha with a grin. He swings two fists towards the larger humans inner thighs before punching both fists at his stomach. The move causes him to lean farther back than you'd expect while still standing and Drebash stumbles back nearly as far as he was before.

[Looks like it doesn't matter :P]

As all three punches hit him, Arutha's body continues to feel disconnected, somehow numbing the pain, though the damages done to his body are still real.
Title: Re: Arutha vs. Drebash

[Just used 1 stunning strike, so just 1 CON save was needed.]

Drebash leans forward and seems to lose his balance. He puts his head down at the last moment to try and slam it straight into Arutha's groin. He rolls off and, now facing away, jumps straight up. With a hard kick of both feet backward, he tries slamming into the human's gut and pushing himself away. Turning the fall into a roll, he somersaults multiple times before standing and leaning back to look at his opponent upside down.

As the last punch strikes him, Arutha staggers. As the public hold his breath, he shakes his head. His body starts responding, and, though breathing difficultly, he immediately starts an incantation, the coin reappearing in his left hand as she describes a series of signs in front of him. Frost starts to condense around his body, forming an ice carapace. As he does so, he cautiously takes some more distance with his opponent, and wait to see what he does next.

[Casts Armor of Agathys as his action, lv3. Moves 30 feet backwards: there is now 60 feet between the two opponents]

Drebash purses his lips as he tries to focus on his opponent as he staggers forward, "I dunno if it's me eyes or if I punched the ghost out o' ye. But ye're all wavy 'n floatin' away. Come back 'n fight 'n we can say the loser buys me rum."

[Move forward 45' (15' now between us)
Take Dodge action]

Arutha suddenly moves forward, still keeping Drebash in check with the range of its weapon, and swings twice at him with the blade, then sends the other end flying towards the goblin's head, before retreating again.

Drebash is unconscious

Seeing the goblin fall unconscious, Arutha lets out a sigh, and nearly stumble, but manage to catch himself with the shaft of his glaive. He stays there for close to a minute, catching his breath, until he finally finds enough energy to triumphally rise his glaive in the air.
"Well, this was interesting after all. Well done, little goblin." he says to the unconscious body of Drebash.
