Aweron vs. Harbinger
« on: April 27, 2019, 10:08:11 PM »
A five foot tall macaw coalesces out of a blinding spear of light. Wisps of smoke swirl around him as he turns slowly, examining his surroundings.

Here again? What sort of beast is here now?

A hulking figure of a half-orc in heavy armor appears as if from nowhere, muttering: "Wha'? Where the fock am I now?"
He turns, sees the macaw and a look of joy appears on his face. He says softly, as if not to scare it away: "A bird? Noice, haven't had a bite in a while. Here chirpy chirpy...", he takes a few steps naively ready to hunt the bird person.

Another beast. How very dreadful. No matter... You'll die just as easily!

Kreekreek flies up 50feet, casting both Hex  and Eldritch Blast (modified with the Repelling Blast Invocation)

Spoiler: show
Hex
Enchantment

Level: 1
Casting time: 1 Bonus Action
Range: 90 feet
Components: V, S, M (the petrified eye of a newt)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour
You place a curse on a creature that you can see within range. Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage to the target whenever you hit it with an attack. Also, choose one ability when you cast the spell. The target has disadvantage on ability checks made with the chosen ability.

Eldritch Blast
cantrip evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V S
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Warlock
A beam of crackling energy streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 force damage.
The spell creates more than one beam when you reach higher levels: two beams at 5th level, three beams at 11th level, and four beams at 17th level. You can direct the beams at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each beam.

first beam 1d20+9 : 8 + 9, total 17

second beam 1d20+9 : 1 + 9, total 10

third beam 1d20+9 : 7 + 9, total 16

None of the beams hit. Also, which ability do you choose for hex?

As Kreekreek shoots up and starts barraging Gul'ragg with attacks he yells out: "OI! Whot the fock kinda bird talks?! Get down here, food!"
He extends a hand towards you and squeezes his fist, you feel your muscles trying to tense up.

[Casting Hold Person DC17 WIS Save as an action. Depending on the result of your roll I might do a bonus action as well.]

Hold Person
Choose a humanoid that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be paralyzed for the duration. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target.

Choosing CON for Hex.

Kreekreek will use a reaction to cast Counterspell.

Spoiler: show
Counterspell
3 abjuration
Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you see a creature within 60 feet of you casting a spell
Range: 60 feet
Components: S
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard
You attempt to interrupt a creature in the process of casting a spell. If the creature is casting a spell of 3rd level or lower, its spell fails and has no effect. If it is casting a spell of 4th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a success, the creature’s spell fails and has no effect.

Were you taking a bonus action, or is that the end of your turn?

"Me dinner's getting away!", he yells out at Kreekreek and pulls out a couple of javelins from a bag on his back, that has what seems to be 50 javelins crammed into it. He also says some orcish and summons a giant flaying knife 60ft towards you (so 40ft away from you I believe. I'm not sure if i can move it 20ft closer on the first turn, I think not if I read the spell correctly?)

[2 Javelin throws as an action, Spiritual Weapon as a bonus action.]

Javelin to hit 1d20+9 : 1 + 9, total 10
disadvantage because of range 1d20+9 : 1 + 9, total 10
Damage 1d6+4 : 5 + 4, total 9

Javelin to hit 1d20+9 : 17 + 9, total 26
disadvantage because of range 1d20+9 : 4 + 9, total 13
Damage 1d6+4 : 1 + 4, total 5

Spoiler: show
Spiritual weapon
You create a floating, spectral weapon within range that lasts for the duration or until you cast this spell again. When you cast the spell, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within 5 feet of the weapon. On a hit, the target takes force damage equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier.

As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the weapon up to 20 feet and repeat the attack against a creature within 5 feet of it.

I believe you can move it. It costs an action. But I was also under the impression that the range of 60 was as far as the weapon could be away from you? I'm not certain, though.

Due to disadvantage, neither hits.

Kreekreek will cast Animate Objects, animating 10 of the coins.

Spoiler: show
Animate Objects
Objects come to life at your Command. Choose up to ten nonmagical Objects within range that are not being worn or carried. Medium Targets count as two Objects, Large Targets count as four Objects, Huge Targets count as eight Objects. You can't animate any object larger than Huge. Each target animates and becomes a creature under your control until the spell ends or until reduced to 0 Hit Points.

As a Bonus Action, you can mentally Command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 500 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can Command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same Command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general Command, such as to guard a particular chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.

Animated Object Statistics

Tiny - HP: 20, AC: 18, Attack: +8 to hit, 1d4 + 4 damage, Str: 4, Dex: 18

Kreekreek will then command all of them to approach and attack Gul'ragg.

Here, money for your dinner!

The half orc is perplexed that he is being attacked by gold coins. He pounds his chest with his fist and a layer of frost covers his plate armor. The spiritual weapon keeps flying towards Kreekreek.

[Armor of Agathys at 4th level as an action, moving Spiritual weapon 20ft as a bonus.]

Spoiler: show
Armor of Agathys
A protective magical force surrounds you, manifesting as a spectral frost that covers you and your gear. You gain 5 temporary hit points for the duration. If a creature hits you with a melee attack while you have these hit points, the creature takes 5 cold damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, both the temporary hit points and the cold damage increase by 5 for each slot.
