Daemon Vandran vs Kachi Kachi
« on: March 21, 2019, 12:42:54 PM »
@thatchickenguy

Entering the east side of the arena stands a man in black plate armor from head to toe. He wears a broad sallet-style helmet with a full face mask, and stands at an imposing 6'2" tall, In his left hand is a shield with a gear-like crest upon it. In his left is a long-sword that is painted red.

"You've challenged me for the last time!" his voice is raspy and stern.

In from the west door of the arena struts a rather average sized fellow, covered in feathers and sporting a reddish-orange beak. The same raspy voice calls out "Challenged me for.." before his head glances around the arena, landing on a young chap selling refreshments "..piiiiiees! he finishes with a bright, energetic voice.

A rapier dangles from his hand and a short bow is attached to his back; a hint of malevolence gleams in his eye.

Kachi Kachi eyes his rival across the arena. "fowl...fowl!!"

He scratches the floor, muttering to himself in a squeaky voice "Gotta nip it in the bud, Andy! before angrily yelling out in that same voice "And you better gird your loins, buster. You got a fight on your hands!"

Kachi calmly and methodically reaches into a pouch at his side, staring angrily at you the whole time. He produces what appears to be a tiny pastry, consuming it in a swift motion before plucking out one of his own feathers and tossing it in your general direction - never breaking eye contact.

((Casting Tasha's Hideous Laughter - Wis save 13))
Spoiler: show

Tasha's Hideous Laughter
A creature of your choice that you can see within range perceives everything as hilariously funny and falls into fits of laughter if this spell affects it. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or fall prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration. A creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or less isn't affected.

At the end of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. The target has advantage on the saving throw if it's triggered by damage. On a success, the spell ends.

"The power of such a spell is insignificant compared to the power I possess. I curse and stab at thee!"
He charges at you and takes two swings of his weapon.

[If any hit, I would like to know so I can add a smite.]
Spoiler: show
As a bonus action, he will use the feature Hexblade’s Curse Once per short rest, as a bonus action, choose one creature you can see within 30 ft. to curse it for 1 minute (or until the target dies, you die, or you are incapacitated). Against the cursed target, you gain a 4 bonus to damage rolls, score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20, and you regain +6 HP if it dies.
Then double attack. With 2 levels in Hexblade Warlock I use my Cha bonus for attacks and damage rolls instead of Str or Dex.

Squawking and flailing as swords fly, a few feathers fall as the blade finds its mark and is pushed through with radiant energy. "Nope nope nope!" he cries in a tiny voice, and pulls away from his assailant. He pauses for a moment and grasps the air, motioning as if there were a ring in the air. In a gravelly voice he intones "Speed? I am speed! and breaks across the arena at incredible speed, attempting to distance himself from his rival.

((Disengage action, Bonus action Expeditious retreat, Dash 60 ft.))
Spoiler: show

This spell allows you to move at an incredible pace. When you cast this spell, and then as a bonus action on each of your turns until the spell ends, you can take the Dash action.

Daemon walks 30 feet toward you, points with his sword to a point directly in front of him, and shouts with all the command his voice can muster "Return!"
Spoiler: show
I get 30 feet closer to you and I cast
Command  (Wis save DC 16):
You speak a one-word command to a creature you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or follow the command on its next turn. The spell has no effect if the target is undead, if it doesn't understand your language, or if your command is directly harmful to it.

Some typical commands and their effects follow. You might issue a command other than one described here. If you do so, the GM determines how the target behaves. If the target can't follow your command, the spell ends.

Visibly distraught, Kachi Kachi darts his head back and forth for a moment before plodding to the spot indicated - all the while muttering with a growl "rassafrassarickarackets".
