D&D Resources

Indigo:
Dungeons & Dragons is a tabletop Role-Playing Game that has been around since 1974. There are a ton of resources for this game, which has gone through several versions. D&D is currently in its 5th Edition, but a few of the older versions (mainly 3.5E) are still very popular as well!
You can read more about its history on Wikipedia.

The system is currently published by Wizards of the Coast. They have the Basic Rules available on their website for free!  We recommend downloading these rules if you are new to the game!

If you would like to purchase any of the official books (and we recommend that you do!), you can buy them there, at your local bookstore, or on online stores like Amazon.com.

There are many great unofficial resources online for D&D, including several threads on Reddit!

A heads up for everyone:  D&D Beyond Phase 1 is now live and open to everybody!

It's a digital tool for referencing basic rules that you can access online, on your mobile phone or tablet.  At the top left side of the page, you can see icons for "Compendium", "Spells", "Items", and "Monsters"!

In the future, Phase 2 will have a character builder and character sheet tool, and Phase 3 will have a Campaign Management tool!!

Definitely worth checking out for PbP or live!!

Update:

All three phases have gone live and are now open!

A lot of us are using the orcpub character sheets, and they leave a bit to be desired . . .I've stumbled upon https://www.orcpub2.com/ (quite by accident really) and it's a much more streamlined sheet until the DND Beyond tools are fully realized.
