[D&D 5e] The Roles We Play [0/5 | 4]

Game system:
DnD 5th Edition

Game Style:
Mystery. Some light horror, maybe? Little combat, if any.

Players: 4-5

Player Skill Expectations:
I'm open to a mix of skill levels.

Starting Character Information:
You'll start at level 5, and remain at that level for the duration of the adventure. For equipment, you'll start with the standard starting gear plus 500 gp, as well as one uncommon magic item and two common consumables. For the uncommon item I would like you to include in your backstory how your character acquired it (a gift? a family heirloom? did they come across it in their previous adventures?), or why it's relevant to your character's personality (eg. a half-orc who wants to fit in in an elf town with a hat of disguise).

Character Creation:
All official materials are allowed, as is UA Revised Ranger. If you want to play any other UA materials, talk it over with me and we can see if it's decently balanced.

Posting Expectations:
Approximately every other day. If you know you're going to be unable to post for a period of time, let me know and we'll figure out a plausible reason for your character to go quiet or put the game on hold for a while.

No evil characters.

The setting is entirely home-brew. Most of that won't matter during character creation or the adventure, but there are a few fluff quirks I'd like to mention up front. There are no seasons, the world is stuck in an eternal summer of sorts. There's also no movement of the earth relative the stars, so I hope you like the constellations as they are right now.

More relevant for character creation, there's also a custom pantheon which I can send you if you want a religious affiliation for your character. If none of the gods suit what you had in mind, we can totally come up with something new.

I'm adapting a weekend campaign for this adventure, so it will be a stand-alone adventure rather than a long-form campaign. This is not to say it probably won't take a while to play still, but there is an end in sight.

Rules-wise, I'm of the mindset that the rules are there in service of player enjoyment, not to stifle it. If you have a creative idea that isn't technically within the bounds of the rules, chances are I'll at least let you try. I also use crits and crit-fails on skill checks as a homebrew rule, but no critical fumble tables or the like.

Please let me know if I missed something or you have any questions!

Experience: AD&D many years ago, a few 5e games.  Currently in 1 other PbP game
D&D 5e
Open to: D&D 5e
Availability: Every day
Play style: I love the RP of RPGs and the interactive storytelling.  I've thought about playing something like a big, dumb fighter, paladin, or barbarian, maybe a dragonborn.

Hey @Acetwinelf and @Nametaker, I don't think CelticRune is coming back since she hasnt been on since May, and we just haven't gotten around to moving this yet.  I will be moving it next week when I get back in
