ParoD&D (alt. Dungeons & Dragons Abridged) [1/3 | 7]
« on: November 20, 2018, 05:28:34 AM »
System: D&D 5E
Style: A tongue-in-cheek, self-parodying balance between exploration, dungeon-delving and storytelling
Players: 3-7
@Acetwinelf
Starting Info: 3rd-level start with XP-based level up
Skill Level: Low-to-moderate, DM tends to be fair and easygoing
Posting Expectations: Ideally every other day
Restrictions: Virtually no restrictions, anything goes (within reason); balance between party classes recommended
Notes: As DM, I put a lot of emphasis on story, so I encourage good roleplaying from every player. I've been told by my group's other DM that I am quite "fair", and I suppose he's right about that, as I don't seek to punish players with brutal challenges and near-impossible monster encounters, hence my aforementioned emphasis on story. Expect my campaign to be mainly focused on a fun experience rather than challenging gameplay.

The Order of the Stick. Futurama: Bender's Game. These and more have shown that Dungeons & Dragons is ripe with potential for telling stories that contain more than a little satirical humour. This campaign, ParoD&D...or Dungeons & Dragons Abridged...or whatever-the-Outer-Planes it ends up being called...is one such tale. What is the plot? Could be anything. Who is the villain? Could be anyone. Why is the owlbear? Could be anywhich...or any WITCH. One thing's for sure: this campaign's world may or may not need saving, and you may or may not be just the hero who may or may not be able to save it.

Im up for it, sounds fun.
How crazy are we talking as far as character creation goes, a owlbear wizard who loves to recite poetry, a nothic rouge that only wants sugary sweets, a gundam comporised of a warforged warlock being the mobile suit while his familiar is the pilot, a dragon who detests gold and gives all his money to charity, a blind kid wizard who has immense luck in his life or eeven a kobold who just wants to be the most famous bard in the world?

@Acetwinelf Pretty much any race and class build from any official 5e source is fair game: sourcebooks, Unearthed Arcana articles, Plane Shift PDFs...and hey, if you want to play something a little more unorthodox, such as a pink dragonborn with candy breath or a warforged druid who plays like something ripped out of Beast Wars, then it just might be allowed. ;)

However, I strongly advise you to at least play a humanoid character. Bend the rules if need be, like a sober, beardless male dwarven wizard, but please don't play something ENTIRELY unorthodox, like a cherry-flavoured gelatinous cube. :P
