Game System Resources / Re: DM Resources

If anyone needs help picking some random magic items with weak and strange properties http://lordbyng.net/inspiration/results.php is a good site. Most of the item properties are situational, some are decent. I have used the table it generates from to hand pick some interesting ones that might fit well with my players.

Looking For Players / [Star Wars D6 REUP] On the Other Side
« Last post by Hawkins on Today at 10:38:31 AM »
System: Star Wars D6 REUP
Style: A mix, expect some political shenanigans and lots of turbolasers and proton torpedoes.
Players: Looking for additional players, currently ongoing.
Starting Info: Standard Starting plus a few extras(will detail below)
Skill Level: Some knowledge of Star Wars,
Restrictions: Humans or Near-Humans, Droids, no aliens
Notes: I've DM'd Star Wars in all of it's interations.
Joining Instructions: Post your character here
Setting: 1 year prior to Episode IV

Notes:

The PCs are members of the Imperial Navy, but somehow you've managed to get yourselves in a small speck of trouble. Not enought that a Court Martial or Summary Execution is warranted, but possibly career-ending. Each of your characters receives a message packet,

                Imperial Communiqué 110450

(Name and Rank) is hereby ordered to report to Commander, Eriadu immediately, for reassignment to To Be Determined By Commander, Eriadu.

Servicemember is authorized travel expenses at the standard rate, and will retain current rank and rate or accept promotion as needed to fill organizational chart.

Servicemember is authorized and required to bring one (1) regulation travel bag(s), or "go-bag(s)," to include uniforms and personal effects.

Leave immediately.

I'm hoping for something along the lines of Down Periscope, A-team, every other Ragtag bunch of military misfits.

Please count me in, GeekyGamerZack, for I'm rather thrilled in seeing a DnD game through a MTG's Planewalker.  :D

System: D&D 5E
Style: Mainly storytelling with a Magic: The Gathering theme
Players: 5-7
@AzuraHerald881
@BlazingFox
Starting Info: 1st-level start with milestone-based level up
Skill Level: Low-to-moderate, DM tends to be fair and easygoing
Posting Expectations: Ideally every other day
Restrictions: Must use allowed options and reskins as listed in the provided campaign guide and Plane Shift PDFs
Notes: As DM, I put a lot of emphasis on story, so I encourage good roleplaying from every player. I've been told by my group's other DM that I am quite "fair", and I suppose he's right about that, as I don't seek to punish players with brutal challenges and near-impossible monster encounters, hence my aforementioned emphasis on story. Expect my campaign to be mainly focused on a fun experience rather than challenging gameplay.

Since this campaign is based on MTG, knowledge of its setting and characters is useful, but not strictly required. As such, this campaign will take place on a mixture of established and original planes, with a fair number of newly-devised characters. And the best part? Every PC is a Planeswalker, complete with their own individual origin and "first-walk" planes!
Joining Instructions: Post your interest in the campaign and say if you're definitely on-board. The first seven players to post will form the adventuring party, and will receive a copy of the available character options. If you need any help with making your characters, or with MTG lore, I am here to help.

By any chance, would you take a 6th player? Looking to try starfinder, I have access to the core rules. Been looking for a group locally, but alas, no dice. I played Pathfinder about 5 or so years ago, then switched to D&D4e and 5e.

Looking For Players / [D&D 5E]  Lost Mine of Phandelver [0/4 | 3]

More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power.

Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.

A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.

For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine. In recent years, people have resettled the area.

Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town. More important, the Rockseeker brothers-a trio of dwarves- have discovered the entrance to Wave Echo Cave, and they intend to reopen the mines.
Unfortunately for the Rockseekers, they are not the only ones interested in Wave Echo Cave. A mysterious villain known as the Black Spider controls a network of bandit gangs and goblin tribes in the area, and his agents have followed the Rockseekers to their prize.

Now the Black Spider wants Wave Echo Cave for himself, and he is taking steps to make sure no one else knows where it is.

Starting Info: We will be starting at level 1.  Unearthed Arcanas and +1s like Volo / Sword Coast / Etc. will be discussed on a case by case basis to preserve game balance.

Skill level: Looking for players of all types including those eager to learn the game.  I will assist with everything I can, including character creation if need be.

Posting expectations: Every other day with exceptions.  Real life always comes first and you should not feel bad if you are a little late posting every now and then.

Restrictions: No evil characters please!

Notes: Hi! I am @Sol  and this will be my first time DMing a PbP.  I have been a player in Play-by-Post formats like this for a while and have decided to take on the role of DM to help some others tell their story!  There seem to be a lot of players waiting to join a game and I don't want anyone to miss out on this great experience. (That I hope to provide). To keep track of character sheets I would like everyone to use https://www.myth-weavers.com/  It is a free site and pretty easy to share your info via links. If anyone has a better solution I am willing to try it.

Joining Instructions: Post a reply that you're interested in joining and PM me a character concept!
