Crypt Of The Everflame / Re: Crypt Of The Everflame Character Creation Thread

2 Traits and 1 Drawback sounds good to me. And essentially yes. I apologize for my lack of clarity. But we can fudge a little bit on the coming of age thing if needed. I don't want to force people to make young characters if they dont want to be. Perhaps your character moved to the village and is allowed to take part to sort of earn the respect of the town? If you can come up with a solid reason for being a bit on the older side I am down for it. Also anyone may feel free to read the adventure summary on the wiki if they so choose to get a feel for what to expect.

Do you have any guidelines for us? I'm worried to read too much about the campaign in case of spoilers. From the summary on PathfinderWiki and your previous post I'm gathering:
  • 15 point buy
  • no character concepts that are too wild
  • the adventure takes place in Nirmathas
  • we should plan to be relatively young characters "ready for a coming-of-age ceremony"
  • maybe expect to encounter undead and traps

2 traits and 1 drawback ok?

I'm also fine either way.  I use Discord for another game, so I'm on frequently.

On here is fine with me, but I'm a fan of Discord and I'm on there basically daily.

Feel free to create your character using either a format via the forums, a character generator or what have you. All I ask is that if you create said character on a generator, post the link to your PDF in this thread.

General Board Information / Loot Lottery - Win swag for being a consistent member
« Last post by Otter on February 01, 2019, 10:01:02 AM »
We know it's incredibly frustrating for our members when a GM disappears or when players ghost a game.  Most of us have experienced it.  Real life happens.  Sometimes it can be embarrassing, emotionally draining, or even physically impossible to return to a game you wanted to commit to.

Because consistency is so rare and valuable on a Play-by-post forum, we want to both reward the players who are consistent and encourage players to be consistent, as much as they can be.  Thus, we are introducing.... the Loot Lottery!

We will run 2 tiers of "Loot Lotteries"--one monthly (~$10 prizes) and one yearly (~$25 prizes).  One winner (for now, at least) will be randomly drawn on or near the last day of the prize cycle (month/year, respectively).  An announcement will be sent out via email, and the winner will also be notified by Private Message by one of the forum administrators.

Members may earn one entry for each of the following criteria they meet;
  • Players who are above half of the average posts-per-day
    • This allows to automatically take into account slow periods, like holidays and school stuff, because the overall average usually goes down
    • Players must have a reasonable majority of their posts in a campaign thread (no spamming in the meme or OOC threads just to get your post count up)
    • There will be a 2 month waiting period before being eligible to win again
  • GMs above half of the average posts-per-day
    • Only 1 entry, regardless of how many games they are running
  • Each referral of a new Qualifying Member.
    • Referrals--as submitted in the "How did you hear about us?" section of the signup information. Make sure to give them your forum username!
    • Once a new member earns their own Loot Lottery Entry (has been active for at least 1 month in and/or running a game), they are a Qualifying Member.  We will take into account whether they have found a game or not, and we will add the entry to the referrer's entries once that person finds a game and becomes active.
Monthly Prize ideas:
$10 maximum

Yearly Prize Ideas:
$25 maximum
  • A custom miniature from Hero Forge
  • Polyhedral dice set (metal)
  • Matching customized Dice Bag & Dice Rolling Tray set
  • High quality paintbrush (for painting minis)
  • Steam Game
  • RPG book from Drive-Thru RPG
  • Commissioned artwork by Sarn Elyren
    • Soft or cel shaded portraits, with a simple background.
    • This would include foliage, semi-simple architecture, flames, ice, semi-simple designs, etc
A rough time frame for delivery of a digital prize is within 1 week, and for a physical prize, within 3-4 weeks.  This is subject to variations on selection, creation, and/or delivery of said prize.

Disclaimer: These rules are subject to change at the Irate Pirate's discretion.  We will make announcements regarding rule changes as deemed appropriate by the forum administrators.

Please don't hesitate to send any suggestions to add to the prize list to a forum administrator.  And as always, keep posting!!

I have a lot more experience playing 5e, but I have played 3.5 once before, not counting Pathfinder. I would love to make a front liner for this.

By all means, go for it. You would be player number 2

Grats!  Here is your game thread, of which you are a moderator.  This post will stay in LFP until/unless you hit your max, at which point you can bump me again and I'll move it to the game thread.  =)
