I have never played before but have always wanted to. I would love to try this out if you are willing to help someone new?

System: Pathfinder

Style: Classic dungeon-diving with a mix of humor and if all goes well, probably leading to a full campaign.

Players: 3-5

Starting Info: We will be starting off level one, using 15 point buy. (Your ability scores will start at 10 base and you increase with points, for those who are new to the system.) Starting equipment will be bought using starting gold from classes.

Skill Level: Any really. Just as long as you are willing to post and willing to learn if you are new. I am not a rules lawyer and honestly am not a fan of those who are.

Posting Expectations: Preferrably every other day.

Restrictions: Nothing too wild. We are all mature here, I hope and can use our sensibilities. Try to balance out the party if you can.

Notes: I am a pretty easy-going DM. I like to have fun and joke around, add some comedy to the game. Please be mature and respectful. Consistency is a must in this hobby. I will be consistent with you, so please return the favor.

Joining Instructions: Post herr and PM me a character concept.
Looking For Game / Experienced roleplayer looking for game!
« Last post by Lifeat78 on January 23, 2019, 01:00:58 PM »
Hi there!  I'm hoping to find a quality PBP roleplaying experience. I play in one real-time online group and GM another offline group, but neither is particularly roleplay-focused.  I'm looking for the type of setup you have here because 1) I don't have big blocks of time in my schedule to devote to another real-time group and 2) I like having a little bit of time to think about my responses.

As for the guidelines:

How long I've been playing TTRPGs: If you really want to get down to it, I guess for about 35 years? I played AD&D (1E, 2E) through college and a bit into grad school, went on a long hiatus where I was playing online text-only RPGs exclusively, and then started TT gaming again 5 or so years ago.

Systems: My recent experience is with Pathfinder.

Systems Open To Playing: Any, if you don't mind a bit of a newbie.

Availability: I can certainly post once a day regularly.  I can often do more, if warranted.

Playing Style: I've played and enjoyed everything.  I like to make characters to fit within plots, and hang the class/mechanics on the background.

Other Notes: I enjoy fantasy (epic, modern, you name it), sci-fi, political (I love me some good political intrigue), most anything really. Being a veteran of online text-only RPGs, I try to give plenty of detail in my posts, but make sure to give others something to react to, rather than just loading up on flowery prose.

Thanks for reading!

Announcements / Reviving the Irate Pirate Promotion group
« Last post by Otter on January 21, 2019, 01:41:08 PM »
Hey guys

So we are going to be reviving the Irate Pirate promotion group, which involves helping us post on Reddit and Facebook (and if anyone wants to volunteer to help us with our Twitter account, that'd be awesome as well).

Many of our users found us on Reddit, and we know that some of you want to help promote us there.  We'll spare the details--join the group if you'd like to help.  (You can easily un-join if it's not your thing.)

We don't want to pressure people who aren't interested in promoting us, and this gives us a simple way to keep track of who wants to be involved.  With this in mind, we have created a membergroup called "Reddit Promotion". It's an open membergroup, which means you can join or leave it whenever you like.  We will only send Reddit promotion updates to this group.  If you don't want to hear about it, you won't!

So how do you join the group?
Step 1:  Click here!
If that doesn't work, go to your Profile (found on the main menu bar), then go to Modify --> Group Membership.
You should see a list of membergroups.  "Reddit Promotion" should appear under the "Available Groups" section.

Step 2: Click "Join Group" next to the "Reddit Promotion" group!  You will now get updates on any links we post to reddit about our forum!

Hey guys,

@mikempty  let me know that some real life stuff came up and he just isn't going to have the time to join our game.

@Acetwinelf , if you're still interested, you can hop in in his place.

ooooof, my bad. maybe he'll realize when he sees the tail.

Sezzy is red-skinned with horns.  He'd notice pretty immediately.  =P  I think you should be able to go back and modify your post if you want to.
