I shored up my Wis save, assuming I'd be dealing with either that or dex saves.

Paladin's have awesome saves at this level.

So I am not 100% sure whether you can take any actions. I think not.

The description for Command says:

You speak a one-word command to a creature you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or follow the command on its next turn. The spell has no effect if the target is undead, if it doesn't understand your language, or if your command is directly harmful to it.

Some typical commands and their effects follow. You might issue a command other than one described here. If you do so, the GM determines how the target behaves. If the target can't follow your command, the spell ends.

Approach.
The target moves toward you by the shortest and most direct route, ending its turn if it moves within 5 feet of you.
...

I would assume the Return command would be the same as Approach, which specifies ending your turn if you move within 5 feet of me. Is that how you read it?

So if I get this straight then the major thing the race revision allows us is to take something like zanthers (is elemental evil still an option?) Subclasses and spells while taking a race from volos? Also I like the changed starting treasure works, are we only taking dungeon master guide magic items or are there other options you want to use?

My local AL Guide has suggested to limit the treasure for these two characters to the following:

At lvl 20, for a high magic campaign, you get 20,000 GP, 2 Uncommon Magic Items, 2 Rare Magic Items, and 2 Very Rare Magic Items, as well as starting equipment.

They said that they think those options seem a little more balanced than AL, for treasure.

Other than that, would you be amenable to a revised Character build options?

20th Level, PHB+1 for everything except race, any non-flying race from hardcover sources, no flight options, gear as written at the begining of this post, and the duel format being first strike, half health, and full health format?

On a related note, I've asked my local uni AL Organiser, if they could explain the gear, rewards, treasure, and magic item rules in layman's terms, and how those rules could be apply to us.
